Ammonium Sulfate
Ammonium Sulfate is an inorganic salt with the formula: (NH4)2SO4. It is used as an alkaline-soil fertilizer to decrease the pH, as an agricultural adjuvant spray, bread and flour acidity regulator, and in various chemical applications.
Chemical
One important quality of ammonium sulfate is its very high water-solubility. This quality enables the creation of very concentrated ammonium sulfate solutions, which in turn is useful in “salting out” proteins by causing them to precipitate at certain levels of concentrations.
